Background and purpose
NTTS (New Techniques and Technologies for Statistics) 2013 is an international scientific conference (organised by Eurostat) on the impact of new technologies on statistical collection, production and dissemination systems.
The purpose of the conference is to stimulate and facilitate the preparation of new innovative projects, to encourage cooperation and possible building of consortia by researchers with the aim of enhancing the quality and usefulness of official statistics and to prepare activities related to research in statistics within the next European Framework Programme for Research and Development (Horizon 2020).
Previous NTTS conferences were organised in 1992, 1995, 1998, 2001, 2009 and 2011.
A printable version of the full conference programme is available here (this programme will be printed and provided to all participants as they arrive at the registration desk).

Special Horizon 2020 on early-stage research opportunities
A special session on ideas for future research projects is being organised, at which researchers will present their early-stage project ideas to interested colleagues (with a view to form research project consortia).
If you're interested in joining research consortia, you're advised to attend the session, at which you will have the time to network with the researchers presenting their early-stage ideas.
Please click here to read more on format of the special session, and here for a list of the research ideas will be presented at the session.
There are satellite events arranged researchers' access to confidential microdata (on 4 March), on modernisation of enterprise and trade statistics (on 8 March) and on mobility statistics (8 March), for which separate registration is required. Click here to learn more about the satellite events.
